Twinleaf TTL Serial (TTS)
The Twinleaf TTL serial interface is the native interface to Twinleaf sensors and devices. The clock, sync, and serial connections go directly to a microcontroller without protection necessary for most user-facing applications. The interface must not be connected or disconnected while in use or permanent damage may occur to the hardware. It is not intended for direct user use except where tight integration, low weight, and/or the tightest timing synchronization is required.
The link is intended for very short links internal to a protective enclosure. In certain applications the link cable may be extended up to 2 meters, but it is essential to confer with Twinleaf before implementing an external TTS link.
This item is intended only for use by system integrators and applications where minimum system size and weight are critical. Permanent damage to sensors can occur if the cables are connected or disconnected while powered.
Physical interface
Twinleaf sensors typically do not have a local oscillator, so a sufficiently high quality timebase must be supplied via this interface.
Pin | Signal |
---|---|
1 | +12V |
2 | Signal Ground |
3 | Clock 24.576 MHz |
4 | Sync 1PPS |
5 | Serial Sensor Input |
6 | Serial Sensor Output |
7 | Shield ground |
The standard connector system is:
- JST SM07B-SHLS board-level socket
- JST SHLP-07V-S-B plug
- JST ASSHLSSHL28K102 pre-crimped jumper wire (other lengths available)
All digital signals employ 3.3V signaling. Both clock and 1PPS signals are required for operation.
The power supplied should be stable, regulated 12 V power.
