Twinleaf Ethernet

Twinleaf devices can employ an ethernet communications module, COMM-ETH. The ethernet module supports the following protocols:

• IEEE 802.3u 10/100 Mbit Ethernet data
• IEEE 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)
• IEEE 1588-2008 Precision Time Protocol (PTP)

Supports PTP with proper PTP switches. Graceful degradation on non-PTP switches. Typical ±200 ns noise, which integrates down to < 10 ns synchronization.

Physical interface

Uses just two twisted pairs of wire.
